A long tone arouses and calls them through the wood.
A drum beats slowly and hungry eyes lose focus as they gaze into flames.
Bodies encircle red tongues of light.
Heat radiates warm on the skin while a cool breeze blows on their shoulders.
A howl pierces the night and the rhythm beats faster.
Like an enormous heart beat they feel the vibration.
Spirit and instinct are in control … wolves, badgers, tigers dance around the fire.
The bear bows to the lion and she purrs.
The children of the earth laugh merrily circling betwixt and through them.
Sweat pores and bodies glisten under full moons rites.
Libations pour down thirsty throats and fruit of the vine is shared by rabbit and wolf.
Thus they play under the moon in the circle of the drums.
